Katie & Ian | Mt. Constitution | Orcas Island, WA
I’ve known Katie since our sophomore days at Seattle University where our friendship began over our mutual interest in T Pain and cheap beer. She witnessed the beginnings of my relationship with my husband and stood beside us when we got married. She’s a great friend, wickedly smart soon to be lawyer and an all around amazing person.
So when I met Ian I had high expectations. And he exceeded them. He’s as sweet, smart, and funny as Katie is. The two of them make each other laugh, support each other, and make sense together.
Katie talked about going to Orcas Island to check out wedding venues and I suggested we do a couple session there. With a wide variety of backdrops, Orcas Island has so many beautiful locations to photograph. Even the ferry ride was an awesome spot to start the session—the views of the San Juans were perfect. Once on the island we explored the rocky bluffs and forest near Eastsound.
Katie and Ian were up for a bit of a hike so we drove to the top of Mt. Constitution and checked out some of the nearby trails. We lucked out on the weather and were able to see Mt. Baker and the surrounding scenery. And the wind on the top made for some great photographs due to Katie’s hair blowing everywhere. I’m so excited for these two and can’t wait for their wedding at Oddfellows Hall in 2017!
