Angela & Daniel | Chihuly Garden & Glass | Seattle, WA
I met Angela and Daniel back in April. Over a few drinks at one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants they described their amazing vision for their wedding day. It involves waterfalls, wooded trails, an intimate ceremony and pretty much everything I love about weddings. I was so excited when they decided they wanted to work with me and immediately set about scheduling their engagement session.
For their session Angela and Daniel picked out Chihuly Garden and Glass in Seattle Center. With vibrant colors and crazy shapes, the artwork made for the perfect backdrop. Daniel’s infectious laugh paired with Angela’s sweet smiles were fun to photograph. They have an easy way with each other which made hanging out with them so relaxing.
The Chihuly exhibit is now one of my favorite spots to photograph. The glasshouse hosts an amazing vivid yellow, red and orange flower inspired piece. The space is mesmerizing. And the gardens outside have their own variety of colors and shapes. From purple and blue stalks of glass to massive colorful orbs. It’s a great spot to spend an afternoon whether your a local or a tourist.
After exploring the gardens for a bit we decided to end the session over in the Olympic Sculpture Park and by the waterfront at Myrtle Edwards Park. We ended up with more interesting artwork and vistas of the city and Puget Sound. I had a great time photographing Angela and Daniel and can’t wait for their woodsy wedding at Wallace Falls this summer!
